Juanita Greeting Card

In my first years of painting, I joined the Arizona Artists Guild  and met Jewel Conway  who suggested  Marnelle North and I join her as a group to have our own exhibition at ASU Grady Gammage Auditorium.  We had to apply, etc..  But first we needed a name, which Marnelle suggested, ”The Three Chicks.”  So we each painted a chick.  This is mine.  Marnelle named her’s, Juanita. When I said that had been my grandmother’s, name Marnelle insisted that that I name my bird Juanita. We had several shows together before Jewel moved to North Carolina.
